What we've built, and what's next

TheGuys.app is built in the open. Here is what has shipped, what we are working on now, and what may come later.

Live today, still being built

TheGuys.app is in beta, and it is live: real crews run real jobs on it today, and real money moves through it. It is still being built in the open. New features and fixes go live most days, and every update reaches everyone at once, so what you sign up for keeps getting better without you lifting a finger.

The number is live. It comes from our own record of what reached the live site — nobody types it in, and it drops on a quiet month.

23days out of the last 30, we shipped something to the live siteLive number

Now, next, and later

Now

We are here

The app is in beta and open to anyone: you can sign up free today, real crews are running real jobs on it, and real money is moving through it.

Next

What we are working on.

  • Getting the customers you already have into the app without typing every one of them in again.
  • Being asked to save the same invoice line to your list, job after job, when the app should just keep it.

In design, not yet promised.

Later

Maybe, and only when it is true.

  • Getting yourself set up without a phone call — every step short and plain enough to finish on your own, in one sitting.
  • More of the paperwork you still do by hand ending up inside the app. What gets built next is decided by what the people already using it run into first.

Before the beta label comes off, every user hears from us first, and nothing you have set up changes.

Plans change, and some of this may never get built. We update this page when they do.

Month by month

  1. April 2026

    • First line of code.
  2. May 2026

    • Write a job the way you would say it out loud, and the app fills in the details.
    • Send a job to your crew and watch who opens it, takes it, or passes.
    • Your Guys work the job from their phone: check in, tick off tasks, add photos.
    • Add the parts you used, priced from your own list.
    • Close out on site with the customer's signature on the screen.
    • Every finished job turns into an invoice for the crew's pay.
  3. June 2026

    • Pay a crew invoice with a card. The money goes to your Guy's bank.
    • Approve now, pay later, with a due date and a countdown.
    • A Guy has to check in before he can turn in work, so the hours are real.
    • Pay and job rules lock the moment you send the job out.
    • Both sides see changes the second they happen, with no refresh.
    • Print or email any invoice as a clean PDF.
  4. July 2026

    • Two-step login.
    • Text-message alerts.
    • A Help Center you can search.
    • A dashboard you can arrange.
    • Jobs on your calendar.
    • Optional travel fee.
  5. August 2026

    • Bill your customer from the job and let them pay online by card.
    • A Clients page.
    • Crew invites by email.
    • Money boxes that do math.
    • A mobile bottom bar.
  6. September 2026

    • The money tiles on your dashboard count what your customers pay you, not just what you pay your crew.
