- Terms of Service — version 3.0 → 3.2
- Acceptable Use Policy — version 3.0 → 3.1
We updated our Terms of Service and our Acceptable Use Policy on August 9, 2026. Here is what changed, in plain words. 1) The $75 monthly minimum is gone. We took it out completely. You will never be charged a monthly minimum for posting jobs. The only fee we charge is our 5% platform fee on money that moves from a Boss to a Guy. 2) We fixed the part that described how the money moves. The old wording said money went straight from one person's Stripe account to another's. That is not what happens. What really happens: the Boss's card is charged the full invoice amount into TheGuys App's Stripe account. Once that charge settles, Stripe pays the Guy the job amount minus our 5% platform fee and minus the card-processing fee for that payment. The money stays inside Stripe the whole time. We never hold it anywhere else, and we cannot change who it goes to. 3) New: an optional cancellation fee. If a Boss cancels a job after Guys have already accepted it, the Boss can choose to pay those Guys something for the trouble. The Boss picks the amount, each Guy gets that full amount instead of it being split between them, and it is paid like any other job payment - so the 5% platform fee and the card-processing fee come out of it too. 4) Cleanup only. Because the monthly minimum is gone, we removed every other mention of it from both documents and renumbered a few sections. Nothing else changed.
