- Privacy Policy — version 3.2 → 3.3
We updated our Privacy Policy (version 3.3, effective August 31, 2026). Here is what changed, in plain words. **1. Paid receipts to customers can now include one optional invitation.** When a customer pays an invoice through the platform, the paid receipt they get may include one short, optional line. If their email address is not connected to a TheGuys account, the receipt may invite them to create one. If it is, the receipt may instead offer to connect — for example, adding the business that invoiced them to their crew, through the same invitation flow the platform already uses. Nothing happens unless the customer chooses it, and we never send follow-up or reminder emails about it. **2. We check one thing to pick that line.** When a paid receipt is being prepared, we now check whether the email address the invoice was sent to already belongs to an account. The result is used only to choose which line the receipt shows. It is never shared with the business that sent the invoice, never used for advertising, and never used to build a profile of the customer. **3. The customer section of the policy says all of this plainly.** Section 23 was updated, including a new Section 23.9 that spells out how the invitation works and that ignoring it changes nothing about the invoice or the payment. Nothing else changed. Nothing changes about your account, your data, or your money. Continuing to use TheGuys after the effective date means the updated policy applies to you. You can read the full policy any time on the Legal page at theguys.app.
